1. Who we are
Golph Media ("Golph Media," "we," "us," or "our") is an independent studio operated by Golph LLC. We build iPhone apps — including Golph, a golf GPS, and Fluent, a sports feed — and this website at golphmedia.com. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect across our apps and site, how we use it, and the choices you have. Where a practice applies to only one app, we say so. By using our apps or site, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what each app needs to work:
- Location data (Golph only). With your permission, Golph accesses your device's precise GPS location while you use it to calculate distances to the green, detect the course you're on, power the aim view, and record where your shots land. It is not tracked in the background beyond what a round needs. Fluent does not use your location.
- Account information. Accounts are optional and offered where an app supports them — for example, to sync your Golph rounds across devices. If you create one, we collect the email address and any name you provide.
- Your content and preferences. Golph stores your scores, hole-by-hole results, shot positions, and the resulting "ghost." Fluent stores your feed preferences — your favorite teams and which leagues and sources you've muted — and what you read and watch, so it can personalize your feed; Fluent keeps this on your device.
- Usage and diagnostic data. We collect analytics about how our apps are used (for example, features opened and sessions) and crash and diagnostic reports, to find and fix problems and improve the apps.
- Device information. Standard technical details such as device model, operating-system version, app version, and identifiers used for analytics and reliability.
3. How we use your information
- Provide each app's core features — for Golph, GPS yardages, course detection, the aim view, scoring, and your ghost; for Fluent, your personalized sports feed.
- Save and sync your content where an app offers an account.
- Diagnose issues, monitor performance, and improve our apps.
- Respond to your support requests and communicate about your account or the service.
- Maintain the security and integrity of our apps.
4. We don't sell your data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use your information only for the purposes described in this policy.
5. Service providers and third parties
We share information only with service providers who help us run our apps, and only as needed to perform their services for us. These may include cloud hosting, analytics, and crash-reporting providers. Golph relies on Apple Maps for satellite imagery and map data. Fluent fetches publicly available scores, articles, podcasts and video from third-party sports sources to build your feed. Both rely on Apple's platform services; your use of those is also subject to Apple's terms and privacy policy. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
6. Data retention
We keep account information and synced content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app; preferences Fluent stores on your device remain until you change them or remove the app. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see "Your choices"). Diagnostic and aggregated analytics data may be retained for a limited period to support reliability and improvement.
7. Your choices and rights
- Location. You control Golph's location access in your iOS Settings and can revoke it at any time; some features won't work without it.
- Feed preferences. In Fluent you can change your teams and muted sources at any time; removing the app clears what's stored on your device.
- Account deletion. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.
- Access and correction. Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We honor these rights as required by applicable law — contact us to make a request.
- Analytics. You can limit certain diagnostics through your iOS privacy settings.
8. Children's privacy
Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International users
Golph Media is operated from the United States. If you use our apps from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes may be highlighted in an app. Your continued use of our apps after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
